I couldn't resist leaving all the above text just the way it is.  This is the VERY first page of my online journal, and I put all that 'everything goes' crap in to help format the template for this page.  As I went along, tweaking the page and fixing the one (or maybe two) million errors I made, my 'filler-text' began to seem appropriate--in a Freudian way--and hopefully it will prove accurate as well.

Spent most of the day chatting (IRC) and creating these journal pages.  It's my first attempt at frames, so they're not too fancy, but it works.

I should acknowledge the site which gave me the final push I needed to actually write and post these pages; I've been thinking of doing an online journal for a while, and today I saw JohnCamLive, and his diary.  The site is straightforward, with no broken links or bad formatting, and some of the graphics are really interesting, and the overall tone is honest, and sincere.  But the thing that fascinated me was his diary.

Webcams have interested me for a while because of the glimpse they give into private spaces.  I even considered trying to get a cam of my own up and running but they require a lot of time and money.  John's diary made me realize that an online journal was the next best thing to having a cam in my bedroom.  (Not that a whole lot happens there, but you know what I mean.) In fact, a journal is better than a cam in my case, since most of what seems interesting in my life is not visible (except maybe for that date last Sunday night...).

Which brings up another question I have not answered yet: Do I post stuff from my offline journal? We'll see.
