you are right.  I admit it now. 

There is a lot of room in this life to delude ourselves, and always others who will agree with and encourage our delusion —all the rest will refuse to step-in to stop us from going off into our delusion.  That sort of compassionate supervision is a duty fulfilled only by a parent.  Nobody is going to assume that responsibility in their place.  Thank God.  Added to my many good fortunes is this fact --that as of right now, today, I have been unable to foist that responsibility onto another.  And, boy, have I been trying.
