if I can figure out how it works, I'm going to start a weblog.  There's just too much to say that's not important; too much that's fleeting.  Like this:  I'm hiding (not an unusual behaviour for me), and I just let the UPS guy get away.  I thought it was a hustler from whom I am hiding, who must currently be homeless judging by his renewed interest in me.  Of course it also is a Friday, a day which has come to be known as fucking Friday because it is the day I resume my four-day workweek.  I should be there now, but I am milking my recent misfortune for all it is worth.  To make matters worse, UPS will return tomorrow, after I have gone to work, and again on Monday after I have gone to work.  Tuesday, I'll be home at their convenience, but it won't matter.  After three attempts, they return it to the sender.

It's a mug-warmer, to keep my coffee from getting cold while I sit here wishing my DSL was connected.

this really has been a bad week.  But I finally feel like my mind has at last resumed its place inside my brain, and (there must be a French phrase for this) that I am connected to my life.

One of the many things that would have made it into my weblog today (if I had one) are the adorable punk-couple doing landscaping for my landlord, and cleaning-up the Spring's blush (remember the rose petals?).  I don't care what anyone thinks, I love pierced eybrows!  Another weblog-event is the arrival of my exorbitantly-priced chair which should have been here July 6 (I'll spare you the e-mail I sent to complain about that).  Not just the chair's arrival, but the several messages the e-mail inspired which I found on my voicemail in the morning; the computer had the phone tied-up.

But, by arrangement with my employer, I am going in tonight to pretend they need me, and to ease back into the stress slowly.  I shudder to think in what condition I will find my co-workers, who all have been working overtime to cover me.

Also I am starting the process of replacing the mummies.  I don't know if the process will rise to the level of a full site redesign (assuming it was ever designed in the first place), but this has been a journal-limited site far too long.  Thanks for staying tuned.
