it's been three hours now that I have been trying to start this sentence. ('Sentence', as in paragraph, not 'sentence' as in punishment.) I finally have HomeSite 4.0.1 back to the way I am used to it working, and I have finally finished restoring a stable FTP function. I have whined in the past about the features HomeSite does not have. But I have suffered through Allaire's abortive attempts at improving it (Version 4.5 and 4.5a), and having now wandered weeks lost in the wilderness, I have learned to live with my familiar version happily ever aftereven without all the neat new features in HS4.5.
My next set of tasks involve revamping these pages, and if I do it right, there should be no apparent change. The first major change is to consolidate all the CSS stuff into one seperate linked style sheet. (I have been duplicating all the style sheet stuff at the top of each pagelots of wasted file space.) This should save some precious disk space on my server. The next major renovation will save much more space; removing lots of giant images (that nobody looks at anyway) and removing lots of 'orphan' imagespics I uploaded, but then replaced with additional pics for some reason, without deleting the previous pics. You know, it's that hesitancy to delete that is so much a part of human nature, it's the same reluctance to discard that creates impenetrable closets and new refrigerator life forms.
I am hoping all that cleaning-out will free-up lots of disk space, but some day soon, I will have to address the issue of what to do with all the old babbling I have done, since I will soon be up against my 25 megabyte limit, no matter how efficient I make this site.
Off to get food...
just now (...whew!) coming back to the journal after discovering Jonathan a web cammer featured on reX's rants tonight. Jonathan is a stunning personality. I am sure he has tons of guys in love with him, and that must get tiresome, but he must be tireless; he comes acrossboth in his talk with reX, and in his chatting later on his own websiteas thoroughly engaging and totally uninsulated from any person he encounters. You know, that slight little distance between people that leaves room for just a tiny bit of suspicion, which is really insignificant and it is, of course, only reasonable to keep just the most minor reservation about people who we really don't know very well... There appears to be no such reservation whatsoever in Jonathan. It may seem over-flattering (unless you are a Republican), but Jonathan's interactions bring to mind the personality of President Clinton, a man who makes a genuine eye-to-eye and heart-to-heart connection with everyone he meets. Uninsulated, and without artificial distance.
We only place distance between ourselves and others out of a fear that we will not be able to successfully manage an intimate interaction, it is a fear that we will lose something that belongs to us, or take something that doesn't. Jonathan (and this is how he is similar to Clinton) has no such fear. I only just discovered him 4 hours ago, but I can see unmistakably that his boundaries are intact and he lives his life right up against them, and he touches the whole world.
now, I have to go to bed...
Good Night (rehearsal and take
34)
(John Lennon, Paul McCartney)
Lead Vocal: Ringo Starr
(rehearsal)
[That sounds quite nice.
What?
It sounds
nice starting like that anyway.
OK yeah!
Somebody should count in
on there.
"1, 2, 3, 4, dream, sweet dreams."
Right! Off you go.
You do the count in then?
That's it, the beginnings different now
OK?
Yeah!
Ready!
How's it go? "Dream sweet
dreams."
1,2,3,4.]
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet
dreams for you
Now it's time to say good night
Good night, sleep
tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night, sleep tight
Dream
sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you
Close your eyes and
I'll close mine
Good night, sleep tight
Now the moon begins to
shine
Good night, sleep tight
(crossfade into the orchestral part
of the final master)
(take 34 for the orchestral part)
Dream sweet
dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for
you
Good night Good night Everybody
Everybody everywhere
